Products placed on the UK market must have the UK economic operator's details shown on the product, and the UKCA mark if applicable. This has been in force since the United Kingdom officially left the EU on the 1st January 2021. Economic operators are manufacturers, importers, authorised representatives, or logistics companies and must be registered in the United Kingdom.
However, in order to make the labeling requirements easier for manufacturers, the government will introduce legislation so that the UKCA marking and UK economic operator´s details can be placed on a label affixed to the product or on a document accompanying the product until 31 December 2025. This deadline has been extended so that manufacturers can now add the UKCA and the economic operator's details using a label affixed to the product or on a document accompanying the product until 11 pm on 31 December 2027.
The idea behind this extension is to make it easier for manufacturers giving them more time to adapt to the new marking regulations.
